This cabin is so comfy, you'll feel like your walking into grandmas, with lots of memorabilia.
You may even find some cheese and a bottle of wine in the refrigerator. Decor rustic with oversized
comfortable furniture. If you like charming old world in a rustic, comfy setting, this is the place
for you. My cabin is located in town in Sierra City, 12 miles from Downieville, 5 miles from Bassetts, and
sits on Butte Avenue off of Butte Street, the starting point for the annual Downieville Mountain Bike Race.
Directly behind the cabin is a trail up to the Sierra Buttes and can be hiked, biked, quad or snowmobiled up, with
plenty of trails going off to other locations. Sits on 1/2 an acre, with plenty of parking and is great
for snowmobilers in the winter time, is located on a mountain side directly below the beautiful Sierra Buttes.
With three bedrooms and one bath. Master bedroom downstairs has a queen size bed. With the two bedrooms upstairs
having two twins and one full size bed. High-end quality new mattresses. You are required to bring
your own sheets/pillow cases and bath towels. Blankets/Comforters are supplied. During the colder seasons you
will also need to bring your own wood, some wood is provided but depending on your length of stay it is advisable that you
bring your own. There are bears in the area, but you won't have any problems with them, as long as you don't leave any
sort of food or garbage out at night. My Cozy Cabin was built sometime between 1870-1890. The original documents
were destroyed in a fire in the late 1800's. It was originally built as a tanners home, and has kept it's original
charm. Of course there have been modern updates such as kitchen facilities and bath facilities. It
has been kept as original as possible and has a beautiful large deck on the front that overlooks the town of Sierra City and
the mountains. Walking distance to small market, and the main street of Sierra City is about one minute.
Sierra City elevation is 4200 feet. All the bedrooms have fans/heaters, there is a woodstove in the living room with
a gas wall heater in the kitchen. Outdoor areas have plenty of seating and areas for recreation, there are fresh herbs,
apple tree, berries and even grapes. Please feel free to help yourself.
